Type Locality and Naming

Along the Alay ridge. G.S. Porshnyakov in 1964 (354, p.39). Previously described by N.M. Sinitsyn in sections of carbonate "sedimentary troughs." M. more than 2000m (165; 443).

Lithology and Thickness

Combines the Arpalyk, Boordin, Adyrakou, Nazarin, and Karadavan formations.
